Carrots are known to interfere with the arcane winds of defense and security, they however great for divination, the banana or the pineapple are the noble fruits of defense.

As for your troubles, counterspelling a counterspell is near impossible for but the most advanced of wizards requiring you to utter on the same breath and with the same gesture on a split moment both your spell and the counter towards the counter.

Fools simply practice a reactive approach, believe that they could immediately upon noting the counterspell prepare their own, do not be absorbed by such foolishness! Unless deeply hasted by magics, you will not complete the components before your spell is struck down!

Instead you must be proactive, as I said, cast both the spell and the counter (to a counterspell in particular), beware that mix-ups result in you countering your own spell, terrible for a fight to the death. Practice makes perfect.

In my defense I was under the assumption you were going to use that knowledge to fill my lungs with carrots, which would make breathing rather difficult.

Here's a question for you actually, Carrot Wizard: Were you planning on conjuring carrots into my lungs or transporting carrots from an existing location to my lungs? What's the difference in quality between conjured and grown carrots?

they are less nutritious than home grown. good spell to use on beasts trying to eat you

As for the foods, their impact upon spellcasting is real as informed to us by the Council of Harvest of 1322. Eat. Your. Vegetables if you wish to become truly proficient upon the arcane arts.

So, I checked the rules, and asked the folks here in the Dungeon of Games and it seems that Counterspell can be countered by Counterspell.
