On Behalf of the magical community at the gate, we are pleased to have such a forum to discuss business upon. All due respects and gratitude to our host.

We hope to see many new arrivals, perusers, and potential customers wander our way.

Please, feel free to introduce yourselves amongst the topic. I'm usually happy enough to guide those to the dark portals that one should require, and would be amused to answer questions on behalf of the Madder Alms community should such be required~

What was that about dark portals? Is that a specific thing, or a general term for what you have going on?

Mmmmm, more specific than general I feel. Many tourists come seeking contact with other planes, or a means to acquire information otherworldly. While there are many public portals, the dark portals are typical the most popular I am afraid, and we have some of the largest, most stable selections from which to traverse and commune from~.

Now, you won't find them just anywhere, which is why most have to be guided to the proper ones

Is there perhaps a specific planar entity you wish to contact, or a forbidden realm you wish to visit? Perhaps a certain kind of pet is eluding your summoning circles~

Nah, the co-op has my interdimensional needs covered. I'm more worried about running into your anything getting in and out since I don't respect the paths, but if you're confident enough to escort newbies, I'm guessing your methods are stable or flexible enough that it's not an issue.

Well, they aren't MY portals, I'm simply one of many who knows the paths to where they are stabilized. I never said they were safe either, so do mind your step should you go looking for one, or meander near were the rifts tear reality asunder. I would hate to see one of our forum members to depart so quickly~

You use them without knowing how they work? And you haven't gotten lost long enough to be unmade? Apparently the touchstone method does work. Maybe I should make some of those. And find whoever made the ones you're using.

I'll take this opportunity to remind you to take some jade or jasper with you to keep your you in you longer.

I haven't lived 666 years just to have my grasp of the arcane arts questioned. I know how they work, I have several pieces of jade jewelry with me, and your lack of information on public portals is telling. Perhaps you should make yourself some ocular enhancements so you can better read, or is it perhaps your lack of intellect that is hindering your comprehension? Or is it that you simply believe your power of perception so great that you shalt avoid every lurking demon that wishes to devour your essences?

These portals were wrent from the natural knots in the weave and various organizations stabilized and maintained them. These are not my portals, I do not maintain them and I did not open them. Do you make every broom or bus you use to travel? Does your co-op not provide you with travelling items, or are they so poor as to make their members self-fund their dimensional travels?

Oh! Dark Portals! so that's what they're called now! I was wondering why they felt so different when I have woken up. Having been like this for 666 years at least... I've certainly missed a lot... I should get back to work maintaining them sooner than I planned!

To expand on your public transit analogy, why would I keep up with bus schedules when I can walk? Portals are for folks who can't or won't pop new holes in that-which-is. Maybe I need to meet more people, but everyone I've spoken to about moving dimensions and such slips through wherever they like.
As for getting devoured by demons, the boys love when I come calling! And they think my ghost(? the non-physical part of you) is nasty. Apparently it's simultaneously too many flavors and tastes like nothing? If you weren't talking about them like they're dangerous to your health I'd recommend asking them to describe it. Very funny.

Pardon my intrusion, I couldn't help but notice these separate posts (Madder Alms Gate, Idyll Nous Tower, The Manticore Put), are these clans? Why do they have names remarkably similar to landmarks of the three states of the tri-state area?
